Dongsha, Pratas Islands, China

We see one man-made, well developed island in the Pratas Reef.

The Dongsha management station on Pratas Island is located 153 miles South by Southeast of China and 262 miles Southwest of Taiwan. This is a very lush, green island with over half the area of the island containing a protected bay. We see a significant airport, with a 0.93 mile long runway, and a tarmac where one plane was parked when the satellite imagery was taken. We see many buildings, athletic facilities, and many circular man-made installations, potentially cannons and anti-aircraft artillery, located around the island. We do not see any balls on towers.


The Dongsha island is located here: 20°42'11"N 116°43’24”E, at the 9:30 position (about 280 degrees) in the round Pratas Islands formation.
